The youth leadership project aims to capacity building of youth develop their leadership skills in the context of conflict.
The project targeted a group of youth who possess the initiative in leadership and have political awareness and desire to influence and bring about positive change in community.
The program focused on developing leadership skills for youth, building their knowledge about the characteristics and indicators of a fragile state in the political, social and economic aspects, and enabling them to analyses the current situation in their local community.
In this project, the youth chose two priority issues related to the needs of citizens in Taiz city (clean and water and sanitation) as priority issues for the community in light of the current conflict in Taiz city.
Then the youth worked on implementing initiatives to address for these two issues,
the duration of the project is 12 months (February 1, 2018-January 31, 2019).
Achievements
Launching youth initiatives to assess community needs in the water, clean sectors and promote partnership between the components of society and government institutions, and implementing dialogue sessions and workshops between citizens, officials and civil society organizations to discuss the needs and challenges facing the community in Taiz city.
